Summing up my six favourite words as expressed by DD everyday:
“lay-loh” [Lego]
“yo-yo” [yogurt]
“issthay” [Casey – care provider’s dog]
“porr-pull” [purple]
“mo-mo” [more]
“uh-ohhh” [no translation required]
At 18 months DD says other words of course, and uses sign language quite a bit.
But when DD says these six words…it’s just so darn cute.

So cute! Love the picture too. Is lay-loh a favorite thing? My son used to love them and they are amazing 🙂

Hi Ayala,
Yes “lay-lo” is a favourite thing and I’m hard pressed to tell you who likes it more…DD or me. 🙂 Building Lego towers is extremely relaxing!

Relaxing and happy looking 🙂

Lovely! My son made up a word to call his dad “Uda” which we think may have been a combination of our dog Utah and Dada, or maybe Hugo (his dad) and Dada. Nevertheless it has stuck and that is his name, although he and his sister changed it to Udi (oo-dee) as time went on.

Did you say “let’s go get your dad” etc.. a lot? might be YouDa mixed with the other prompts as well. 😛

Your children gave their dad his own unique name. Beautiful.

I love those fun first words.
uh oh…funny we all seem to learn that one right quick! 🙂

When DD says “uh-oh” she uses a sort of sing-song voice and it just kills me, it’s so cute.

Hi Mel, great idea to keep everyone up to date with your daughter’s words. I’m a father who recently developed a product called the BubCap home button cover, after having a problems trying to share toddler apps with my son (he would press the home button all the time). I am sending out BubCaps for free to prominent tech-industry parents, please contact me if you’d like to try them.

oh, I miss that age. Love it.
